Lady Gaga May Actually Be Starring In Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3

Bradley Cooper’s voice performance as Rocket Raccoon is without a doubt one of the highlights of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. That’s why fans were so excited to hear that the third outing in the Guardians of Galaxy series will place a heavy focus on the character and his story arc that we’ve been following for several years now.

Indeed, several reports have told us that a lot of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be dedicated to exploring Rocket’s backstory, with Mark Hamill rumored to be playing his mysterious evil creator. Now, it sounds like Cooper’s A Star is Born co-star Lady Gaga may show up in the film as well, playing someone who also has very close ties to the talking mammal.

A few days ago, news of Gaga’s involvement started to spread like wildfire online and though Marvel has yet to comment on it yet, Hollywood Life has now weighed in, saying that they’ve spoken to their own sources who say that the singer is very likely to appear in the upcoming threequel as Lady Lylla.

“There is a very strong possibility that Lady Gaga and Bradley will be working together again on Guardians of the Galaxy 3. Only some cast names have been released but the word is Bradley will reprise his role of Rocket Raccoon and Gaga will play his love interest. Their characters are animated but still, it’s exciting. Audiences want them together and certainly everyone recognizes that appeal, they’re box office gold together, it’s very likely that this will happen,”

For those who may not know, Lady Lylla is a sentient otter that’s also a toy-making heiress from the planet Halfworld. First introduced back in 1982, she Rocket in the midst of the great “Toy War,” which is exactly what it sounds like. It’s unclear how closely to the source material director James Gunn would stick if he indeed does plan on bringing Lylla to the big screen, but she’d certainly fit right at home in the off-beat and wacky series.

Then again, getting Lady Gaga on board for the role feels kind of like the exact stunt casting that Marvel usually avoids. That’s not to say we wouldn’t want to see her in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3., just that if she ends up playing Lylla, hopefully it’s because she’s right for the role and not just because Marvel knows a Gaga and Cooper reunion would do gangbusters at the box office.
