Marvel Studios Black Panther Outfit Now Available In Marvel’s Avengers

The 2020 video game Marvel’s Avengers will receive a new outfit for the recently added Black Panther character which is themed around the version portrayed by the late star Chadwick Boseman in Marvel Studios’ Black Panther.

Earlier today it was announced that the “Marvel Studios” outfit will be coming to the game for Black Panther and its appearance is crafted on Boseman’s Black Panther from the 2018 film.

Players can purchase the skin from the in-game marketplace alongside other cosmetic upgrades for heroes now. The character’s original outfit that is available in the game is more suited to his comic book origins boasting completely different armor plating.

You can also check out a clip of how the new look appears within the game thanks to a video posted to the game’s YouTube channel.

The skin comes off the back of the release of the War for Wakanda expansion which not only added the character to the game but also brought a whole new storyline and unique location for players to work through and explore.

As Marvel fans will know, Boseman tragically passed away in 2019 due to cancer. The upcoming film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is set to continue after the events of the first film and according to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, will do so in a way to make the late actor proud.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is scheduled to hit theatres on July 8, 2022.

Shang-Chi Will Reportedly Meet With [SPOILERS] During Post-Credits Scene

Shang-Chi Will Reportedly Meet With [SPOILERS] During Post-Credits Scene

Just days away from the release of Marvel’s latest film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, not only has the film’s entire plot allegedly been leaked but also has the pair of post-credit scenes attached to the film.

These two scenes are vastly different in scope and set up both what is next for Shang-Chi and for the rest of the cast in the MCU as a whole.

The information was first posted to Reddit by a moderator on the Marvel Studios Spoilers SubReddit. The first of the scenes detailed is a post-credit scene, an obvious spoiler warning for those who continue reading on.

According to the supposed leak, the mid-credit scene will see Shang-Chi meet with Captain Marvel and Bruce Banner at the Sanctum using the hologram technology that The Avengers gathered using at the beginning of Endgame.

“[T]hey talk about the Ten Rings as a power just showing up and how there’s other things in the universe they must not know about. They also mention that there’s something in the Ten Rings acting as a beacon sending a signal. When Katy and Shang ask where it’s sending to, Cap Marvel gets a message and she and Bruce leave. Bruce is also still wearing a sling. Wong basically says to them “welcome to the team” and it ends with the three of them going to karaoke and singing Hotel California.”

The trailer at the end of the credit roll has more to do with the scope of the next Shang-Chi movie and begins with the sister in her room.

“[S]omeone says ‘they’re here’ she walks out, she’s taken over her dad’s palace, the 10 rings banner is now reddish, her gang is around her while she sits on the throne. zooms out and people are training and the base now has some graffiti, etc showing the new leader. ‘THE TEN RINGS WILL RETURN’”

Obviously, these are not confirmed as the film hasn’t yet been released in theatres, however, it would line up with rumors that have been circulating over the last few weeks. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings launches on September 3rd, 2021.

What’s Leaving Netflix — September 2021

Netflix has released a list of titles that will be leaving its service during September. This has become a monthly ritual in recent years as the ever-changing nature of media licensing means that shows can change hosts with little to no notice. However, what stands out about September’s list is how many big-hitters are leaving the service.

This includes the popular 2012 drama Ripper Street which will be removed on September 7th. Ripper Street follows a group of detectives in late 1800s London who try to stop a new Jack The Ripper rampage. Also leaving will be popular historical horror drama Penny Dreadful which will depart Netflix on September 16th. Penny Dreadful featured many classic gothic horror characters interacting and working together to solve a series of strange mysteries.

Cult-classic movie Scott Pilgrim vs. the World will also be vanishing on September 15th. This 2010 movie was an adaptation of the Bryan Lee O’Malley comic that saw Michael Cera play Scott Pilgrim, a slacker musician who falls in love with Ramona Flowers. However, Scott soon learns that Ramona’s seven evil exes are unhappy about Ramona dating a new guy. The movie didn’t do amazingly well in theaters, but it quickly developed a dedicated fandom and became one of Michael Cera’s most famous roles.

September 30th sees the most significant removal of shows, with over 20 titles leaving the service. This includes most of the Star Trek franchise with the original series, Star Trek: Enterprise and Star Trek: Voyager, boldly going off Netflix. Also leaving will be several big-name films. This includes the Austin Powers franchise, horror movie Insidious, and the first two Kung-Fu Panda movies.

Critically acclaimed movie The Queen will also be bidding a royal farewell to Netflix on the 30th. This 2006 movie stars Helen Mirren as Queen Elizabeth II. This stunning biopic pleased both viewers and critics when it was released, and it received praise for its beautiful cinematography.

One of the most surprising losses is Karate Kid 1, 2, and 3 on September 30th. The famous martial arts series has been running since 1984, and Netflix is currently the exclusive home of the drama spin-off Cobra Kai. Because of this, many expected the platform to hold onto the original films to support that series.

As Netflix continues to pivot to home-grown original content and while new streaming services continue to appear, we will continue to see these large lists every month as shows jump from service to service. While this list does feature many popular titles, Netflix still has a lot to offer viewers.

Complete List Of Titles Leaving Netflix In September

By the end of September 15th, Netflix will have said goodbye to Kicking and Screaming, Midnight Special, Ripper Street, Turbo, I’m Sorry, Pawn Stars, Angry Birds, As Above, So Below, and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.

Then, between September 16th and September 29th, Penny Dreadful, Beauty & the Beast, and The Grandmaster will be leaving the service.

Finally, on September 30th, the following will also leave NetflixAir Force One, Austin Powers in Goldmember, Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, Boogie Nights, Cradle 2 the Grave, Evil, Fools Rush In, Insidious, The Karate Kid, The Karate Kid Part II, The Karate Kid Part III, Kung Fu Panda, Kung Fu Panda 2, No Strings Attached, The Pianist, Prom Night, The Queen, Star Trek, Star Trek: Enterprise, Star Trek, Star Trek: Voyager, The Unicorn, and Why Do Fools Fall in Love.

A Controversial Seth Rogen Movie Hits Netflix Next Month

Sometimes government agencies like the Department of Defense or the State Department might consult on a film to help things realistic. It’s rare that the release of a film has to have its release delayed after the FBI confirms a terrorist group is threatening violent attacks at theaters if the movie airs while trying to hack into computer systems. Not to mention having a movie declared an “act of war” by a foreign government.

It may seem hard to believe, but this is what Seth Rogen had to deal with in one of his most controversial films. Netflix is bringing The Interview back so people can watch it once more next month. The movie was originally supposed to release in October 2014 but had to be delayed after threats from the “Guardians of Peace,” a group with ties to North Korea. As the main plot of the movie involves assassinating Kim Jong-un, it might come as no surprise.

The Korean Central News Agency said that releasing the film would be a, “most blatant act of terrorism and war,” with North Korean United Nations Ambassador Ja Song-nam saying it was, “the most undisguised sponsoring of terrorism.” The KNCA even went so far as to write to President Obama to request the film be pulled.

Despite this and the other delays required to make edits to the film after the terrorist threats, The Interview still managed to get to audiences after the wide release was forcibly canceled by many theatres, forcing Sony to release the film for streaming online.

“In light of the decision by the majority of our exhibitors not to show the film The Interview, we have decided not to move forward with the planned December 25 theatrical release. We respect and understand our partners’ decision and, of course, completely share their paramount interest in the safety of employees and theater-goers.”

Sony Pictures Official Statement

For those who want a chance to see one of the most controversial films Seth Rogen will ever make, it coming back to Netflix in September will be the best time to do so. Make sure to watch The Interview before it potentially goes away again.

Meet The Eco-Horror Film That’s Taking Over Hulu

It’s not easy to make a good eco-horror film but when it’s done right, they can be absolutely terrifying. It’s impossible to forget movies like The Day After Tomorrow, Phase IV, and The Bay after watching them. Now it looks like a new film might join those ranks as it skyrockets in popularity on Hulu.

According to stats from FlixPatrol, it’s the number one horror movie on the entire platform right now. Taking on the hot-topic issue of fracking with stars like Allison McAtee, Marc Blucas, and Grease star Adrienne Barbeau bring a terrifying new story to life in the film Unearth.

“The relationship between two neighboring farm families are strained when one of them chooses to lease their land to an oil and gas company. In the midst of growing tension, the land is drilled, and something long dormant and terrifying, deep beneath the earth’s surface is released. Unearth is about the horrifying repercussions sown by short-sighted decisions, and what our children reap from our actions.”

Synopsis From Hulu

The movie has been doing well, holding a 69% Tomatometer rating on Rotten Tomatoes which isn’t bad for a film that featured a lot of new actors on the silver screen as well. If horror fans want to see what directors Dorota Swies and
John C. Lyons brought to the table they can find Unearth streaming now on Hulu.

This 90s Rom-Com Is Suddenly Popular On Netflix For One Reason

Sometimes, it’s the strangest things that suddenly make a film regain popularity again. Most films from the 90s that barely hold a 41% Tomatometer rating on Rotten Tomatoes would suddenly have fans trying their best to watch it again without a unique motivation right? That’s exactly the case right now on Netflix with one of the top ten most popular movies on the platform.

Despite its middling critical reception, She’s All That actually received eight awards after its release and helped launch the song “Kiss Me” by Sixpence None The Richer to hit No. 2 on Billboard’s Top 100 list. Right now, fans are going back to watch the classic film for one reason.

“High school hotshot Zach Siler (Freddie Prinze Jr.) is the envy of his peers. But his popularity declines sharply when his cheerleader girlfriend, Taylor (Jodi Lyn O’Keefe), leaves him for sleazy reality-television star Brock Hudson (Matthew Lillard). Desperate to revive his fading reputation, Siler agrees to a seemingly impossible challenge. He has six weeks to gain the trust of nerdy outcast Laney Boggs (Rachael Leigh Cook) — and help her to become the school’s next prom queen.”

Synopsis From Google

With the release of the genderswapped version of the film, He’s All That, fans are going back to watch the original to compare them both against each other. The remake, starring Addison Rae, was the number one movie on Netflix despite being panned by critics and audiences alike. It’s entirely possible that people disliking the film is part of what is driving them towards watching the original.

Anyone who wants to compare both movies for themselves can find them both streaming on Netflix.

Genshin Impact Gets New Trailer Introducing Gameplay Of Aloy From Horizon Zero Dawn

Genshin Impact quickly became a smash hit when it was released in September 2020. The open-world adventure RPG and gacha game has resonated with players and developed a massive fanbase. This is thanks in part to its fun story and interesting gameplay. It has also received praise for its unique roster of playable characters, and the newest character is no exception to this rule.

MiHoYo, the publisher of Genshin Impact, released a trailer for version 2.1 of the game. And this trailer showed footage of a new character. But this character isn’t an original one. In fact, it is Aloy from 2017’s Horizon Zero Dawn. Horizon Zero Dawn was an open-world roleplaying game that had players control Aloy as she ventured through a post-apocalyptic world ruled by massive robotic enemies.

MiHoYo describes Aloy as:

“A skilled hunter is always on the prowl for new and thrilling experiences. Braving this strange new world of Teyvat will be Aloy’s latest trial.”

The trailer shows off Aloy’s many abilities, including her trademark bow. Aloy is an expert marksman and is thus able to fire off many arrows in rapid succession. Aloy’s charged attack will allow you to precisely aim the bow, letting you hit specific targets with ease. Also, when her charged attack is fully charged, this shot will deal Cryo damage.

Aloy’s elemental attack is called Frozen Wilds. This attack sees Aloy pulling out a freeze bomb and throwing it towards a foe. On impact, this bomb explodes and splits into several chillwater bomblets that also explode on impact or after a short time. Anyone unlucky enough to be in the bomb’s blast radius will take Cryo damage, as well as getting an attack debuff.

Whenever an enemy gets this debuff, Aloy acquires a coil stack. If Aloy gains four of these, she enters Rushing Ice. This mode turns her normal attacks into Cryo attacks.

Aloy’s elemental burst is called Prophecies Of Dawn. This attack sees Aloy throw a Cryo-filled power cell into the air before detonating it with a well-placed arrow. This triggers a blast that does area of effect Cryo damage.

To round her off, Aloy has three passive talents. This includes Easy Does It, a talent that makes small animals harder to startle. Combat Override, a buff that improves Aloy and her allies’ attack power whenever Aloy gets a coil stack. Finally, Strong Strike gives Aloy a damage bonus whenever she enters her Rushing Ice state.

Aloy will join the roster on September 1st, 2021. However, at first, she will only be available to players that are playing on PlayStation. Players on other formats will have to wait for update 2.2. to get hold of her. She will be given free to any player who has reached Adventure Rank 20 when they log into the game.

Michael B. Jordan’s Superman Will Reportedly Cross Over Into DC Extended Universe

Michael B. Jordan’s Superman Will Reportedly Cross Over Into DC Extended Universe

Previously, it was reported that Michael B. Jordan was working on a Black Superman movie for release on HBO Max. The story was said to be about Val-Zod, the Superman from Earth-2, who has been portrayed as Black within the comics. Now it looks like we might have even more info on the upcoming film.

According to reports from Giant Freakin Robot, “Michael B. Jordan’s Superman will join the DC Extended Universe via the Multiverse.” While there is no word yet on if he will join the multiverse before or after the series, this opens up the door for us to see a movie or television series with two different heroes that go by Superman.

This development is particularly interesting as Warner Brothers are currently making another project with a character on Earth-2 — The Batman. While the exact story from the comics doesn’t have to be followed, the potential for the company to intertwine these stories open up future DC projects to a whole new level of potential.

While there’s no word yet on if Michael B. Jordan will actually star in the new Superman series, this new development is sure to leave fans even more excited than ever before to see what he comes up with.

Paranormal Activity 7 Set For Paramount+ This Halloween

Paranormal Activity 7 Set For Paramount+ This Halloween

The low-budget franchise that keeps on giving for Paramount, Paranormal Activity has generated $890 million at the box office for the studio. We learned early this year that Paranormal Activity 7 was expected on Paramount+ at the end of 2021, and it’s now been confirmed that the film will be available for Halloween, following the release strategy of previous entries.

Speaking as part of the company’s TCA tour, ViacomCBS Streaming’s Tanya Giles announced the planned schedule, and that we’ll also be getting a behind-the-scenes documentary on the feature:

“A new Paranormal Activity from Paramount Players should bring fans an unexpected reimagining of the beloved horror franchise. We’ll also be launching a documentary on the making of the Paranormal Activity. Both of which will be coming to the service in time for Halloween.”

The-spooky-door-in-Paranormal-Activity

Although plot details are not yet known, it’s not a big stretch of the imagination to predict that there’ll be a fresh haunting and some inventive uses of found footage. Given that Jason Blum has indicated how he wanted the producers to reinvigorate the property after 2015’s pretty lackluster Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension, it’s hoped that the seventh go-around won’t just retread the other sequels.

The creative team for Paranormal Activity 7 is promising, though, if not deviating too much from expectations. Underwater‘s William Eubank is directing, while series veteran Christopher Landon is returning for script duties. With Landon having penned the successful Happy Death Day mini-franchise and Freaky since 2014’s Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones, we’re confident that he can shake up a formula that had more or less run out of steam after the first couple of movies.

Paranormal Activity 7 was originally set for a March 2021 release, before the pandemic pushed it back to 2022. The decision to go to streaming shows the determination of Paramount to compete with HBO Max, Disney Plus, and Netflix in providing exclusive content, with the brand-name value of Paranormal Activity and the Halloween window likely resulting in a decent audience of old fans and new viewers brought in by the appeal of a high-profile horror title.

WB Reportedly Wants Animated Series Set In The Batman Universe

WB Reportedly Wants Animated Series Set In The Batman Universe

Matt Reeves’ The Batman might be set outside the mainstream DCEU, but it’s not just a one-off alternate take on the Dark Knight. Instead, it’ll be the beginning of a wide-ranging Bat-verse. Not only is a trilogy expected, but Warner Bros. has plans to expand its universe in TV projects for HBO Max, as well. The Gotham P.D. show is on its way, for one, and there are definitely more in the works.

We’re hearing that WB also has ambitions to stretch The Batman universe into the animated medium. Our sources – the same ones who told us about the POC-led Superman reboot before that was confirmed – have revealed that the studio wants to make an animated series set in the world of Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne. That’s all we can say at this stage, with any specific direction for the project currently unknown.

This intel adds up as WB has been making a big push when it comes to upping its DC animated content of late, particularly when it comes to Batman. Over the past year, we’ve got announcements for Harley Quinn season 3, pre-school series Batwheels, young Supes show My Adventures with Superman, and, most notably of all, Batman: Caped Crusader, a noir-flavored reimagining of the hero from Bruce Timm, Matt Reeves and J.J. Abrams.

With that show on the way, The Batman animation probably won’t focus on Gotham’s protector but rather take a different POV on the universe, much like the Gotham P.D. series. Could it be based around more civilians? Another vigilante? Maybe even a villain? With Pattinson’s Bats at the beginning of his career, the potential is there for these spinoff shows to build up the familiar, heavily populated Bat-verse piece by piece, making them part of a greater whole.

Again, this isn’t something that’s necessarily been given the green light yet, but WB is keen to make it happen. The Batman is set to hit theaters on March 4th, 2022.

Snatch Star Wants Brad Pitt, Jason Statham And Guy Ritche Back For A Sequel

Snatch Star Wants Brad Pitt, Jason Statham And Guy Ritche Back For A Sequel

A lot of directors suffer from difficult second movie syndrome, but Guy Ritchie delivered arguably his best with his sophomore effort behind the camera. Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels set him up as the foul-mouthed, stylish and vibrant top dog of British independent cinema, and while Snatch was very much cut from the same cloth, it added an extra layer or Hollywood sheen to the formula.

The highly convoluted plot involves an bare-knuckle boxing promoter trying to convince a gangster to take a chance on a fighter. When he doesn’t throw his first bout, another match is hastily arranged, but there’s a second crime kingpin on the scene who comes to place a bet for a friend, while several other shady members of the underworld try to get their hands on a stolen diamond that’s about to hit the market.

A 74% critical score and a 93% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes would indicate that Snatch has its fair share of supporters, even though it’s been 20 years and change since it first hit theaters in the United States to push it towards $83 million globally on a $10 million budget. Star Vinnie Jones is aware of how highly people regard the film, so much so that he’s even pitching ideas for an American-set follow up that would reunite him with Guy Ritchie, Jason Statham and Brad Pitt.

“I’d love to do Snatch 2. Especially in America, they say, ‘Are we gonna see Snatch 2?’. A few years ago there was a rumor about Lock, Stock, but I think worldwide Snatch would be the one to do. I’d love to get the boys back for that one. I think it would be enormous. I think it would be an out-and-out smash. It would be an absolute blockbuster, before it was even shown.”

Snatch

Legacy sequels are all the rage these days, but you’d think Snatch wouldn’t be something Hollywood executives would be desperate to turn into a franchise. Then again, not much has changed in some respects, with Ritchie and Statham still regularly collaborating, while Pitt remains one of the most famous faces in the industry.

James Gunn Confirms Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 Screen Tests Are Underway

James Gunn Confirms Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 Screen Tests Are Underway

Marvel fans have been waiting a long time for confirmation that work has finally begun on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but while it’s not quite at the shooting stage yet, it’s getting there. Director James Gunn has offhandedly revealed on social media that he’s currently holding screen tests for his much-anticipated cosmic threequel.

Gunn took part in a Twitter-hosted watchalong party for his DC debut The Suicide Squad this Monday, along with a bunch of the film’s cast. The chat saw star Steve Agee reveal a quirk about Gunn’s directorial style. “One thing you don’t wanna hear James say is ‘One more time,'” the actor revealed, “’cause that usually means about 100 more times.”

The filmmaker admitted this is accurate by using an example from that very day, letting slip that he’s currently in the casting stages for Guardians 3 in the process.

“I irritate myself by how often I say one more time,” Gunn said. “I’m actually doing screen tests today for Guardians 3…and I kept saying “One more time,” and I’m like, these people don’t know me… They don’t know that it means 1000 more times.”

This is our first update on where the movie is at since June. That month saw Gunn confirm that he was storyboarding the film, with Nebula actress Karen Gillan likewise revealing she was already back in the makeup chair to create her character’s prosthetics. The news that screen tests have begun is the most exciting update yet, however, as it teases that we could start to get some casting announcements in the not-so-distant future.

Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, and the rest of the regular cast will of course be back for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which will be the final outing for the OG Guardians team, leaving the door open for a reboot at a later date. With casting underway, that indicates production should commence later this year, before the threequel releases in May 2023.

That might be a while away, but the good news is that The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, a Disney Plus one-off that’s being shot alongside the movie, is headed to streaming in time for Christmas 2022.
