Watch: Breach Trailer Proves That Bruce Willis Still Looks Bored Even In Space

Watch: Breach Trailer Proves That Bruce Willis Still Looks Bored Even In Space

For the third time this year, there’s a new Bruce Willis movie heading straight to VOD, but at least this one promises to offer something a little different to the standard action thriller fare that the 65 year-old can typically be found in. It boasts all the hallmarks of a standard B-level Willis vehicle though, as Breach features a generic title and what appears to be a wholly unoriginal and formulaic plot.

The action icon heads up the cast as generically named protagonist Clay Young, who is forced into action on an interstellar voyage when an evil alien force starts infecting other members of the crew. The concept definitely has potential, but Breach doesn’t look to be focusing much on maximizing it, with the trailer swiftly devolving into standard running and gunning with a sci-fi element.

Willis looks to be delivering another painfully bored performance, and there’s not a shred of interest or urgency coming from the Die Hard legend in the promo. Scenery chewing duties appear to have fallen to Thomas Jane, who can always be relied upon to at least pretend like he’s having fun in these kind of genre efforts, while the supporting cast is filled out by VOD stalwarts like Callan Mulvey, Timothy V. Murphy, Johnny Messner and Rachel Nichols.

Breach arrives on digital next month, and looks to be required viewing for Bruce Willis completionists only. If you’re looking for a sci-fi movie starring a slumming A-lister to whittle away a couple of hours during a lazy afternoon or late night over the next few weeks, then Nicolas Cage’s Jiu Jitsu looks to be a much safer bet in terms of sheer insanity and entertainment value.

Watch: The Walking Dead Season 10C Table Read Clip Teases Upcoming Episode

Watch: The Walking Dead Season 10C Table Read Clip Teases Upcoming Episode

There are just 30 episodes left of The Walking Dead. The long-running show recently wrapped up its tenth season, setting in motion the events of the show’s conclusion with the appearance of high tech soldiers from the Commonwealth. But despite being officially over, there’s still a bit more to come before the eleventh and final season. To fill the lengthy gap between now and then we’re getting a six-episode ‘season 10.5’ in Spring 2021.

That’s in production at the moment and to whet our appetites AMC has been releasing table reads from the episodes. Last month we got a clip from season 10.5 episode ‘Home Sweet Home’, showing the reunion of Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), just after the Whisperer War had concluded.

Now they’ve followed that up with another ‘clip’ from an episode titled ‘Splinter’. This features Ezekiel (Khary Payton), Eugene (Josh McDermitt), Yumiko (Eleanor Matsuura), and new character Princess (Paola Lázaro) captured and imprisoned inside train cars by the Commonwealth. The clip is fairly short, but seems to hint that the last arc of the series will see our heroes unwillingly transported to the Commonwealth’s base.

After season 11 the core show will conclude, but The Walking Dead fans won’t be left out in the cold. Andrew Lincoln’s Rick Grimes is confirmed to return in a The Walking Dead movie trilogy alongside Pollyanna McIntosh’s Anne and (probably) Danai Gurira’s Michonne. The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in delays and a debate over releasing movies on VOD has caused a major rift to form between Universal and AMC Theatres, but they’re expected to shoot fairly soon.

We also have season six of Fear The Walking Dead coming in October 2020, as well as more The Walking Dead: World Beyond. There’s been subtle hints that these two shows are building towards the movies, which may be about finally developing a cure or vaccine for the walker pathogen. Is there a zombie-free future for our heroes? It looks possible, though I can guarantee that not all of them will live to see it.

Let’s hope we get more table reads from season 10.5 soon and can begin to figure out the future direction of The Walking Dead.

Watch: New Feature-Length Friday The 13th Fan Movie Voorhees

Watch: New Feature-Length Friday The 13th Fan Movie Voorhees

Jason Voorhees is famously unstoppable and always comes back for more, despite multiple grisly ends. But of late, he’s tangling with his fiercest adversary yet: lawyers. The long-running legal saga as to who owns the rights to the original Friday the 13th rumbles on with no end in sight. Back in 2018, a judge ruled that the all concepts within the original screenplay belong to writer Victor Miller. Current rights holders Sean Cunningham and Horror Inc. appealed, but the case appears to be in purgatory as COVID-19 continues to gum up the legal system.

Through adversity comes triumph, though, and fans have stepped up to the plate to unofficially carry on Jason’s rampage. A month ago, we saw the very impressive Never Hike in the Snow by Womp Stomp Films, the sequel to their 2017 effort Never Hike Alone. On Halloween, meanwhile, Wet Paint Pictures released their own take on the franchise, Voorhees, for free on YouTube and it’s already racked up 165 million views.

The 99-minute movie feels about as close to a proper sequel as you can get. The concept is that a group of criminals and their hostages are lying low in the forests near Crystal Lake. This proves to be a bad place to try and hide out, though, with Jason not appreciating anyone on his territory and dispatching the hapless crooks in all manner of imaginative ways.

Friday the 13th fans are loving it, singing the film’s praises in the comments section and deeming it “fun and brutal,” “bloody good” and “mind-blowing.” Some even go so far as to say that Voorhees is better than most of the official movies (though let’s face it, it’s not that hard to make a more enjoyable pic than Jason Takes Manhattan).

Let’s just hope that when (if?) the legal situation surrounding Friday the 13th resolves, whoever’s in control of Jason looks to these excellent fan efforts for inspiration. And hey, if we’re going to get stuff this good for free, then I’m happy for the judge to take his sweet time deciding who’s right.

Watch: Awesome Fan Trailer Pits The Boys’ Homelander Against Superman

Watch: Awesome Fan Trailer Pits The Boys’ Homelander Against Superman

Comic book fans have always wondered how Homelander would fare against the Last Son of Krypton given that their powers seem almost indistinguishable. Now, a seamless mashup of Amazon’s The Boys and footage from the DCEU’s Man of Steel teases how their confrontation could look like.

In terms of characteristics, Superman and John are nothing alike. One is a paragon of virtue, while the other is a narcissistic supervillain. One is a savior of the world as the strongest member of the Justice League, and the other a corporate crook who kills everyone that stands in his way. But even beyond these traits, there are some inherent differences between the two men, bestowed with godlike powers.

After all, Homelander was created inside a lab via a biological drug, whereas Clark Kent is an alien and owes his superpowers to the Sol System’s yellow sun. The Boys series have yet to show the leader of the Seven at his peak strength, but the process itself begs the question of whether Compound V can actually go toe-to-toe with Superman’s natural aptitudes.

The new fan trailer by Paradoxical Edits, who shared it on the fan trailers subreddit, doesn’t really focus on comparing the two iconic figures, though, and instead shows how a rivalry could form between them. If Kal-El somehow got wind of what goes on behind the scenes of Homelander’s splendor as a superhero/celebrity, he’d do something about it. I mean, it took less for him to go after Batman, so this wouldn’t be such a stretch of the imagination.

On the other hand, the Man of Steel has a well-known Achilles heel that the trailer depicts as well; kryptonite. The Boys hasn’t revealed any such weaknesses for Homelander in the context of the plot, and at this point, he is seemingly invincible. So, it’s interesting to speculate which would come out of this fight alive.

Who would you put your money on, though? Sound off below.
