Brie Larson Will Appear In At Least 5 More MCU Movies

The nearly 25,000 people who’ve signed the petition to replace Brie Larson as Captain Marvel are about to be severely disappointed.

Sources close to We Got This Covered have informed us that Larson’s en route to appear in at least 5 more MCU movies before her contract’s up. The extent to which she’ll headline or be a major character in those flick has yet to be made clear, but rest assured, Brie isn’t going anywhere.

Prior to the standalone film’s release in March, the actress made some feminist-based comments that the dark sides of the internet used as ammunition against her. This reigned in a parade of online anarchy and negativity, with many claiming that Larson’s political activism’d make Captain Marvel the MCU’s biggest flop.

Well, that turned out to not be true at all. The Boden-Fleck film went on to earn over $1.1 billion at the worldwide box office, but even so, a lot of people weren’t happy with Larson’s “white-washing” casting. Enter the petition mentioned above, which challenged the 29-year-old actress to prove herself as “an ally of social justice” by stepping down from the role to make way for a woman of color.

But given Captain Marvel‘s success, her appearance in Avengers: Endgame, and, oh yeah, her signature on a dotted line, it doesn’t look like Larson’ll be going anywhere anytime soon.

There’ll be plenty who rejoice at this news – apparently including the Avengers cast – and I encourage them to speak up. Though she may be white, Brie Larson’s joined a select group (and by select, I really mean just one: Gal Gadot) of females who’ve led their own comic book movies. Love her or hate her, she’s undoubtedly become a role model for a countless number of young girls out there. And it’d be a disgrace if Marvel swept her out from under the rug.

Though I’m a bit hesitant to ask, I’ll do it anyway. Tell us, what are your thoughts on this news? Do you have any non-sexist, nor race-based complaints against her version of the character? If you do, please let us know in the comments section below.
