Listen: Vin Diesel Reveals His First Musical Single, For Some Reason

Vin Diesel is best known as the star of the Fast and Furious franchise who specializes in wearing white tank tops, mumbling about family and apparently using gravel as mouthwash. The 53 year-old can usually be found sticking rigidly to type, but there are many more strings to his bow than you might think.

As well as being a lifelong Dungeons & Dragons fan, the man born Mark Sinclair is a former breakdancer, owns a record label and video game development company, and got his foot into the industry by writing, directing, producing and starring in his own output, which brought him to the attention of Steven Spielberg, who subsequently cast the young actor in Saving Private Ryan.

Diesel almost exclusively deals in movies that are either part of a franchise or made with the intent of launching one, but a lengthy period of inactivity has seen him stretch his creative wings and the Guardians of the Galaxy star has now unveiled his first single. No, really.

On a recent chat show appearance, he unleashed his masterpiece on an unsuspecting audience and it has to be said, he’s a much better singer that you’d have thought given his signature baritone speaking voice. Produced by Norwegian musician Kygo, “Feel Like I Do” is a surprisingly upbeat track, although some people might find it hard to shake the fact that it’s very clearly an auto-tuned Vin Diesel crooning over the beat.

With Fast and Furious 9 having been delayed by a year, though, maybe he’ll be buoyed by his latest experiment and release a tie-in song for the movie’s end credits like Will Smith used to do on a regular basis.

2020 has been one strange and uncomfortable year for everyone. Not only is the entire world still fighting the ongoing COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, but it’s also an extremely important election year for the United States, and it’s exacerbating the already substantial social and political divide in the country.

Donald Trump’s controversial presidency resulted in a massive number of Democrats bidding for the 2020 election earlier this year, leaving a lot of uncertainty about which candidate voters should support, but now that Joe Biden and running mate Kamala Harris are the official nominees, things are finally barreling toward a tense finale on Election Day.

Concerns regarding mail-in voting have been widespread, voter suppression is a worry for many, and a lot of misinformation is being spread leading up to November 3rd. But sadly, most of that is fairly par for the course in modern politics. What isn’t, however, is Kanye West‘s strange bid for the presidency, which he’s outwardly stated is a blatant attempt to steal votes from Biden due to the rapper’s support of President Trump.

Now, West has shared a campaign poster on Twitter which has some unusual pictures included on it. Among them is a photo of actress Kirsten Dunst smiling, though there’s no context for why she’s been included on the poster at all. The only caption West shared along with it is the hashtag #2020VISION, leaving plenty up to the imagination.

In fact, not even Dunst knows why she’s there. In response to the tweet, she asked quite simply: “What’s the message here, and why am I part of it?” The Spider-Man 3 star previously endorsed Bernie Sanders in March, and though she’s not since endorsed Joe Biden now that he’s the nominee, it’s assumed that she would support him over Kanye West. For now, though, we’ll have to wait and see if we hear more about what the use of her photo is all about.

Voters will face a truly painful decision this November when they’re asked to choose between Donald Trump, Joe Biden and Kanye West. The musician threw himself into the 2020 race earlier this year, claiming he’d lost confidence in Trump after his response to COVID-19. Though West has missed filing deadlines in 21 key states, he’ll still be on the ballot in Oklahoma and (pending verification) in Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Missouri, Ohio, Vermont, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

Now, West has revealed that his running mate will be “biblical life coach” Michelle Tidball. She runs an online bible study program called Abundant Ministries and lives in Cody, Wyoming, where West owns a ranch and has spent a lot of time since 2018. Not much else is known about Tidball, other than the fact that she proudly claims in one of her videos that she doesn’t “watch news.” But hey, being wildly uninformed about what’s going on in the world should mean she’ll fit perfectly into the Kanye West 2020 campaign.

Over the last few weeks, he’s claimed that “Planned Parenthoods have been placed inside cities by white supremacists to do the Devil’s work,” that vaccines are “the mark of the beast,” that every “baby-bearing mother” should receive one million dollars and claimed that “Harriet Tubman never actually freed the slaves, she just had the slaves go work for other white people.”

He’s also explained that he’d like to model his White House on Wakanda from Black Panther, presumably meaning that future challengers for President will face him in single combat atop a waterfall.

“A lot of Africans do not like the movie [Black Panther] and representation of themselves in…Wakanda. But I’m gonna use the framework of Wakanda right now because it’s the best explanation of what our design group is going to feel like in the White House…That is a positive idea: you got Kanye West, one of the most powerful humans—I’m not saying the most because you got a lot of alien-level superpowers and it’s only collectively that we can set it free. Let’s get back to Wakanda . . . like in the movie in Wakanda when the king went to visit that lead scientist to have the shoes wrap around her shoes. Just the amount of innovation that can happen, the amount of innovation in medicine—like big pharma—we are going to work, innovate, together. This is not going to be some Nipsey Hussle being murdered, they’re doing a documentary, we have so many soldiers that die for our freedom, our freedom of information, that there is a cure for AIDS out there, there is going to be a mix of big pharma and holistic.”

All of this came to something of a head at West’s first campaign rally, where he broke down and tearfully explained that his father wanted to abort him, saying that: “There would have been no Kanye West, because my dad was too busy!” He then went on to scream whilst sobbing: “I almost killed my daughter! I almost killed my daughter!”

Furthermore, he’s also been adamant this his campaign is not a publicity stunt to promote his new album and is not a joke. I guess we’ll just have to see about that, though.

As if things weren’t bad enough in the world, famous rapper Kanye West recently announced he would be running for President this year. His campaign rally over the weekend was labeled as disastrous though after he became emotionally untethered and began to slander beloved activist Harriet Tubman. Those who attended were presumed to have done so largely for entertainment value, of course, as the artist has essentially no chance at winning the presidency.

West is only on the ballot in Oklahoma after his petition for South Carolina didn’t amass anywhere near the necessary 10,000 signatures to get him on the ballot there. That said, it appears he has little left to gain by staying in the race, though he hasn’t announced a formal withdrawal as of yet. In fact, in a recent interview, he even claimed to want Jay-Z as his running mate, so he may still feel as though he has some type of path to victory.

“You know who my favorite candidate for my running mate is?… I’m gonna present it as a riddle to you. When we were trying to figure out my website, cause everybody kept stealing my website cause I’m in the dirty game of politics, what I did is put the initials of this [state] down, and then I put Kanye 2020, would that be? Whoooo!… I was like ‘You know who should be my running mate? Shawn Carter.'”

For those of us on Planet Earth, though, it’s clear that West and Jay-Z stand no chance of landing themselves the President and Vice President titles, and it may be that the entire campaign was just to garner attention for West’s upcoming album Donda. The new record is named after his deceased mother, Donda West, and will be the rapper’s 10th studio album.

Clearly, it appears the 2020 election will boil down to President Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden. The former is leading by high double digits in national polls, and he’s likely to win the popular vote at the very least, but as the 2016 election made obvious, the electoral college could still go to Trump. We’ll know the outcome in a few short months and in the meantime, Kanye West will continue doing what he does best – being utterly bizarre in every way.

It seems that Kanye West is running for President after all. Just days after he appeared to wrap up his campaign, West has hosted a deeply strange rally in a conference hall in Charleston, South Carolina. He appeared in a bulletproof security vest with ‘2020’ shaved onto the back of his head and addressed the crowd without a microphone.

During a rambling speech, West discussed abortion rights, after having attracted controversy last week for an interview in which he described Planned Parenthood as an organization run by “white supremacists to do the Devil’s work.”

During the rally, he also broke down in floods of tears as he explained that his father wanted to abort him, saying that: “There would have been no Kanye West, because my dad was too busy.” He then went on to scream whilst sobbing: “I almost killed my daughter! I almost killed my daughter!”

When challenged by a member of the audience on his opinions, he said, apparently off the cuff, that he’s not interested in making abortion illegal, but that everyone that becomes pregnant should be given a million dollars. He then concluded:

“The only thing that can free us is by obeying the rules that were given to us for a promised land. Abortion should be legal because guess what? The law is not by God anyway, so what is legality?”

West also launched into a condemnation of 19th-century abolitionist Harriet Tubman, claiming that “Harriet Tubman never actually freed the slaves, she just had the slaves go work for other white people.” This was met with shocked silence from the crowd, broken only by an exasperated cry of “come on man!”

But whether Ye is seriously intending to run or not, his plans might be scuppered by late registration. He’s already missed the deadline to qualify for the ballot in many states and is yet to collect enough signatures to appear on the ballot in a number of others. However, he’s apparently confirmed to be on the ballot for Oklahoma, so at least in that state voters will have the truly wonderful choice between Kanye West, Joe Biden and Donald Trump. Isn’t democracy grand?

2020 has been a very, very odd year. Not only odd but also strange, depressing, difficult and unexpected. And now, just when you thought it couldn’t get any more bizarre and surprising, in comes Kanye West to rock the world with his announcement on Twitter earlier tonight that he’s running for President of the United States.

Yes, you read that right. The hip-hop artist, having previously teased an interest in politics several times in the past, has officially stated his intention to run for office. And while he hasn’t followed up his initial tweet with any further statements, his 29 million followers are waiting with bated breath to see what he has to say next.

After all, with the initial tweet sitting at 420,000 likes at the time of writing, it’s clear that a lot of people are into the idea of Kanye running for president and below, you can find a sample of what folks are saying online about the rapper’s intention to run.

Between the coronavirus pandemic, widespread riots across the world following the death of George Floyd, an invasion of murder hornets and more, 2020 has been a pretty strange, depressing and difficult year. And just when you thought it couldn’t get any stranger or more bizarre, in steps Kanye West to send shockwaves throughout the country by announcing that he plans to run for president.

Earlier this evening, the hip-hop star took to Twitter to announce that he intends to run for office. “We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future,” West tweeted. “I am running for president of the United States.”

Following the release of Avengers: Endgame, Marvel Cinematic Universe fans from all over the world have been left with a handful of unanswered questions. One of the most pressing though is what exactly does the future look like for Bruce Banner/the Hulk? As you might remember, the big green giant snapped billions of lifeforms back into existence following the Avengers’ time heist, but unfortunately, he was left injured by the sheer power of the six Infinity Stones. Worse yet, you shouldn’t expect him to heal anytime soon, as it looks like the damage is permanent.

Of course, we’ve heard that the Hulk would make the jump to the small screen with the release of a She-Hulk TV show on Disney Plus, but there’s a chance he won’t be doing as much crimefighting and alien slaughtering. As reported by Screen Rant, the screenplay for Avengers: Endgame was recently released online and fans have been digging through its many pages to see what juicy information they could find. It turns out that after his transformation into “Smart Hulk,” Bruce Banner has become a celebrity scientist of sorts.

Yep, you read that right. It seems the jolly green giant has become something of a celebrity and even tells Scott Lang/Ant-Man that he’s “personal friends with Bill Nye the Science Guy.” This new direction does make sense, too, as Tony Stark had exited from the spotlight to spend time with his family and Banner was in a prime position to step up and become the superhero/scientist combo that the world desperately needed.

It’s not entirely unsurprising that this character development wasn’t fully explored in the theatrical release of Avengers: Endgame, but it certainly sheds new light on the diner scene where a group of kids ask for Hulk’s autographs and a few selfies.
