Now that the highest-grossing film of all time has been released on both digital storefronts and Blu-ray/DVD (yes, I’m talking about Avengers: Endgame), there’s just one more question that fans are asking: when exactly will we be able to stream it on demand?
If you were hoping that you’d have the chance to watch Endgame on Netflix in the near future, you’d best prepare for a bit of disappointment. Worse yet, you won’t be able to find it on the world’s biggest movie-streaming platform at any point, let alone the near future. Instead, you’ll have to pony up for yet another service.
As ComicBook.com reports, Avengers: Endgame will finally be made available for streaming in about four months time, on December 11th. As some of you’ve no doubt expected, it’ll only be uploaded to Disney Plus, which itself is set to debut on November 12th. In fact, this year, the House of Mouse decided not to renew its deal with Netflix, which means that new movies won’t be hitting the latter’s platform a few months after they first release on digital, as they so often have in the past.
As a result, the number of MCU films that are currently on Netflix is dwindling, and titles are being removed at a regular pace. A few months back, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. got taken down, and at the time of writing, only four movies remain: Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War, Ant-Man and the Wasp and Black Panther.
For those of you who plan on subscribing to Disney Plus, you’ll be able to watch Avengers: Endgame shortly after the platform launches in September. If you don’t plan on paying for yet another streaming service, well, you’re better off renting or buying it, or holding out for a complete box set of the Infinity Saga.
