Love it or hate it, Netflix offers its subscribers one of the most expansive streaming catalogues in the entertainment industry. Not only is there the enormous list of outside films and series that bring themselves onto the site, but there’s also the ever-expanding collection of original content that Netflix creates itself (Bojack Horseman, anybody?).
But with that said, it’s not like the company has a bottomless pit of storage. And as you certainly know by now, stuff flows in and out of our queues constantly.
From the looks of it, the next month won’t be any different, especially for horror fans. While we’re still excited about the latest season of Stranger Things, which, unless you’re living under a rock, you know released earlier this month, there’s going to be a ton of stuff leaving come August 1st.
We’ll go ahead and rip off the band-aid. Here’s the list:
- Poltergeist
- Zombieland
- Final Destination
- Final Destination 2
- Final Destination 3
- The Emoji Movie (it’s here because it’s scary bad)
But all jokes aside, that’s a lot of content leaving the site. The soon-to-be removal of Zombieland feels especially strange, given the fact that the its sequel, Double Tap, will be hitting theaters on October 18th.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t stop there. Among these screamfests, a series of other renowned pictures will also be leaving Netflix:
- Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
- No Country for Old Men
- Good Will Hunting
- Hot Fuzz
- Scarface
- The Hurt Locker
- The Master
- Zodiac
- Wind River
So, as we prepare to mourn August’s losses, tell us, what are your thoughts? Is there any particular film you’re especially sad to see go? If so, make sure you hop on Netflix and check it out now!
