Thee May Be A Secret Marvel Phase 4 Movie In The Works

After all that endless speculation from fans, Marvel finally revealed their full Phase 4 slate at Comic-Con last weekend. Or did they? Yes, we’re not done with that yet as a curious comment from studio president Kevin Feige following the panel has left us wondering whether the company has an extra treat up their sleeves that they’re saving for another day.

After the Phase 4 line-up was announced, Feige spoke with MTV’s Josh Horowitz about how they decided what to publicly reveal and what not to. And in doing so, he might have made a telling mathematical error.

“We debated what we should announce today, Feige said. “Should we announce 4 and 5? We’ve planned them out, we’ve got five years down the road and I was like ‘I think eleven projects in two years is plenty.'”

Excuse me, Mr. Feige? Eleven projects? According to the slate announced at SDCC, Phase 4 makes up 5 movies and 5 TV shows coming out across 2020 and 2021. In case you don’t have them all memorized yet, those projects are Black Widow, The Eternals, Shang-Chi, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Thor: Love and Thunder, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, WandaVision, What if? and Hawkeye.

So, what is this additional property that Feige seems to be hinting at? Well, it’s possible that he’s referring to the Blade reboot that was also announced, but he’s confirmed elsewhere that Mahershala Ali’s movie is part of Phase 5. Maybe it could be Spider-Man 3, then? So far, Tom Holland’s hero has got his own film every two years in the MCU, meaning it was a surprise when Phase 4’s slate apparently told us he wouldn’t get another until at least 2022.

Could we receive four Marvel movies in 2021, then? It’s possible, but for now, we’ll simply just have to wait and see what the studio has in store for us.
