Latest Wolfenstein: Youngblood Gameplay Trailer Introduces The Nazi-Slaying Blazkowicz Twins

Twenty years is one hell of a chronological gap to have between sequels. Wolfenstein: Youngblood, an indirect sequel to 2017’s Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus does exactly that next month, and intends to make several drastic changes in the process. For one, series star and Nazi-slayer extraordinaire B.J. Blazkowicz won’t return to take centre stage this time around. Instead, the hero’s twin daughters, Jessica and Sophia, will take up the mantle together.

There’s a good reason for the character change, too. See, following the climax of New Colossus – in which B.J. was finally able to settle down with Anya and start a family – daddy Blazkowics has upped and disappeared into thin air. Suspecting foul play, Jess and Sophia head off in search of their esteemed pops, one that begins in none other than Nazi-occupied Paris. Like father like daughter(s), the siblings will inadvertently find themselves fighting alongside the French resistance in order to liberate the city of love and the wider country from Nazi rule.

If that premise isn’t already enough to get your blood pumping, feel free to check out the latest gameplay trailer for Youngblood below.

With dual protagonists, of course, comes the prospect of a co-op adventure, one which developers Arkane Studios and Machine Games have been happy to oblige. What’s more, those that opt to pick up the Youngblood Deluxe Edition will find inside the box a so-called ‘Buddy Pass’. This can be given to a friend for them to redeem a free copy of the game so as to get stuck straight into the campaign together. As outlined in the video above, additional extras include the Cyborg Skin Pack and various other cosmetic goodies with which to customise the twins.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood is out July 26 for Xbox One, PS4, Switch and PC. If what we’ve seen so far is any indication, Blazkowicz senior will certainly be proud to have such talented Nazi-killing offspring, wherever he may be.
