Despite the hype for James Gunn‘s final Guardians of the Galaxy film in theaters next month, predictions state that it’s going to fall short during its domestic opening compared to its predecessor.
The Wrap reported that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is predicted to hit somewhere between $125 to 130 million during its opening weekend. In comparison, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 earned around $146 million during its domestic opening. While these numbers seem low, it’s up to audiences to determine its box office performance once the film comes out next month. After all, the sequel earned more compared to the $94.3 million the first film did back in 2014.
