New ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ footage provides a new glimpse of Spot

Every Spider-Man fan is near bursting with excitement over the release of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and now there is one more aspect to get pumped for. The first film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse brought us numerous Spider-Men, now it is going one step further and a few new villains are emerging including the deadly Spot.

The latest international trailer gives us a great look at the upcoming villain voiced by Jason Schwartzman. The Spot aka Dr. Jonathan Ohnn is a villain existing within Miles Morales’s dimension, with the superhero having to take him on alone as his dimension’s “one and only Spider-Man.” The trailer shows off Spot’s abilities, with the black-and-white villain able to open inter-dimensional portals that he can transport through, even just one part of himself, which makes for some pretty cool fight scenes keeping Spidey on his toes.

‘Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’ team was given option to delay further but chose not to

If Cyberpunk: 2077 proved anything to the video game industry and its audience, it’s that no matter how many times you delay the release date of a hotly anticipated title, it can still end up shipping absolutely busted. While the approach that Respawn took with Star Wars Jedi: Survivor wasn’t as drastic, the development studio still opted to delay the release of the title by six weeks. 

In spite of this, the game still launched with myriad performance issues, particularly on PC. One can’t help but wonder if the game had spent just a little bit longer in the lab, it could have avoided these launch woes, thus ending up with a broad consensus that the game is stellar – because outside of the performance troubles, that’s exactly what it is.

Rocket and Groot almost got a spin-off movie before it became ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy isn’t too afraid to shy away from spin-off titles following our intergalactic heroes. And apparently, there was going to be a third spin-off title before the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, starring Rocket Racoon and Groot.

In an interview with i09, Guardians‘ director, James Gunn revealed that he once had plans for a show that featured only Rocket Raccoon and his sentient plant friend, Groot. Gunn also mentioned that this Groot and Rocket story could have become the main plot for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. but was changed to the plot we know today.

‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ villain was left convinced he was ‘going to hell’ for his actions

Fans of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 are gearing up for the highly-anticipated theatrical release this weekend, but there’s one piece of the storyline that everyone will be watching through the spaces between their fingers as they throw their hands over their faces to brace for impact.

The High Evolutionary is the villain in this chapter of the story, and will undeniably be the most hated villain in MCU history. Now, we know you’re saying, “but Thanos…” and yes, we remember his snap-happy fingers and how they devastated all of us, but The High Evolutionary is taking things a step further: He’s inexplicably cruel to animals.

Latest DC News: Details prove Zack Snyder didn’t have half a clue what to do with the DCU

Zack Snyder spent the weekend hanging out with his fans at his Fill Circle event, a three-day convention that celebrated the director’s contributions to the now defunct DC universe. The panels saw more than a few Snyder what-if plans and the reveals have some fans thanking the comic book gods for taking the director as far away from the future of DC as possible. The little things really do add up to a lot, and when you look at those infractions together, they start to paint a very strange picture of what Snyder thought of the DC universe.

The newest details of Snyder’s now defunct DCEU compared to James Gunn’s recent Creature Commando revelations have us breathing that sigh of relief as well, as we celebrate all the latest information the miniseries just dropped.

Latest Disney News: ‘The Little Mermaid’ lands wobbly opening weekend projections while ‘Peter Pan & Wendy’ defies criticism by flying to the top of streaming

There’s nothing like a calm weekend to steady the waters upon which Disney coasts into the proverbially splendid ocean. Oh wait, it wasn’t calm… 

Peter Pan & Wendy underwent its opening weekend on Disney Plus and as hinted last Friday, the debut did not go over well. Meanwhile, The Little Mermaid received its first official opening weekend box office projections, and while the numbers aren’t bad, they’re not spectacular. Of course, the less-than-spectacular reception doesn’t bode well for Lilo & Stitch since The Little Mermaid is arguably one of Disney’s most popular IPs. Once again, Disney’s efforts to remake, reimagine, and reboot popular classics are proving to be anything but magical.

Review: ‘Redfall’ serves up some of the bloodiest, most satisfying vampire hunting in years

When it comes to video games, there are few genres I enjoy as much as first-person shooters, especially when it involves no small amount of strategic thinking. I’ll shoot anything once, and if I like it, I’ll shoot it for years. So, when I read about Redfall a few years back, I was immediately excited. Arkane’s various studios have consistently been creative with their approach to making video games, and Redfall is no exception. It’s everything you want it to be, and then some.

It’s downright gorgeous, the enemies are dangerous and varied, and the combat allows you to approach each scenario in multiple ways — just in case you keep getting wrecked by vampires. Redfall has taken lessons from Arkane Lyon’s Deathloop, tightening up the gunplay to make for relatively smooth handling of even low-tier weapons. It wouldn’t be enough to just have some easy-to-use basic weapons, so Redfall ups the ante by adding in scores of interesting guns to UV freeze, stake, and blast every enemy you meet.

We all know that, in the past, Disney hasn’t been afraid to shy away from the darker, more adult elements of its source material. From the brutal murder of the titular character’s mother in Bambi to Frollo’s criminal abuse of Quasimodo in The Hunchback of Notre Dame, these classic kids’ movies can sometimes seem like they’re for anybody but children.

‘Teslagrad’ is mid, so why did I beat it anyway?

I’ve been in an art slump lately: fiction lacks its escapist allure, peak TV invades my timeline but not my living room, and music has been background buzz instead of sock-exploding goodness. Perhaps most devastating is my sheer apathy toward video games, a feeling so pronounced that even news about the newest entry in my favorite series — The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom — is met with a disinterested shrug. Still, the only way to get out of a slump is to push through it by force, so whenever something happens to vaguely catch my attention, I go for it. 

It’s this logic that loops through my head each time I grit my teeth and seethe with frustration while playing Teslagrad Remastered, the shadow-dropped visual update of Rain Games’ 2013 electromagnetic puzzle platformer. A decade ago, Teslagrad stood out as the type of high-quality, low-cost experience that reaffirmed that independent developers can produce polished experiences worthy of being sold alongside AAA blockbusters. People were drawn to the game — it sold well over one million copies before the 2016 release of its Xbox port — and hailed it as one of the Nintendo eShop’s defining indie experiences. Yet, almost no one is discussing this remaster; reviews are sparse, all the attention focused instead on the decent-enough sequel. But I bought it anyway.

‘I thought he was gonna die’: James Gunn recalls almost killing Chris Pratt while filming ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’

What a journey the Guardians of the Galaxy have been on; from Ronan to Ego to Thanos to Kevin Bacon, we’ve laughed, cried, and jammed along with the greatest band of misfits to ever grace the Marvel Cinematic Universe for nearly a decade, and with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 fast approaching, fans will have to prepare for what will surely be one of the hardest goodbyes in the franchise.

But if James Gunn — complete with his morbid sense of humor — is to be believed, we almost had a very different Guardians reality, and a very different Jurassic World, Lego, and Super Mario reality to boot.
