Based on the general malaise surrounding his most recent features, there was a belief that Roland Emmerich returning to the disaster genre would signal an upturn in fortunes, only for Moonfall to flop spectacularly.

The Master of Disaster hasn’t helmed a genuine box office success since 2012, and that was released 13 years ago, which is hardly encouraging. Even his $100 million World War II epic Midway failed to catch on, despite numerous projects proving the enduring popularity of the subgenre, most notably the likes of Saving Private Ryan, Pearl Harbor, Dunkirk, and even the fictionalized Inglourious Basterds.

A disastrous literary flop watches over the Netflix charts

Following the overwhelming critical and commercial success of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Peter Jackson had the creative freedom and industry clout to do whatever he wanted.

As a result, he decided to remake his favorite-ever movie, and audiences responded in kind by powering King Kong to a hefty $562 million at the box office, not to mention a solid 84% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Things were looking good, then, until the Academy Award-winning filmmaker opted to tackle The Lovely Bones.

‘Sherlock Holmes’-style Houdini movie in the works from ‘Transformers’ producer

Hollywood has been trying to get a Harry Houdini movie off the ground for well over a decade, but at no stage has it been designed as a straightforward biopic detailing the life and times of the legendary escape artist.

Instead, the project has almost always been focused on adapting The Secret Life of Houdini: The Making of America’s First Superhero, which may or may not have been rooted in fact. Speed 2, Rush Hour 2, and Catch Me If You Can scribe Jeff Nathanson was first announced to be tackling the script way back in 2009, but it failed to materialize.

Which Actors Have Played Batman?

Batman begins yet again this March — and this time he’s played by Robert Pattinson, who’ll be making his debut as DC’s Dark Knight in The Batman. With director Matt Reeves’ movie — which is receiving overwhelmingly positive reviews — coming out this weekend, now’s the time to take a look back at every pre-Pattinson actor who’s played the Caped Crusader. Altogether, 11 actors have taken on the part in cinematic history; nine in live action, and two in animation. So let’s go back in time to remind ourselves of the Men who were Batman.

Lewis Wilson

The man who has the honor of being the very first actor to don the cape and (in his case, oversized) cowl is Lewis Wilson, who played the part in the 1943 Batman movie serial, which hit screens just four years after the hero’s creation in the pages of Detective Comics in 1939. While not a major star himself, Wilson’s son, Michael G. Wilson, became the co-producer of the James Bond movies.

Xbox has just announced the next batch of games making their way to the Game Pass subscription service in March, and they include Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII.

Microsoft’s commitment to adding new, compelling video games to their Game Pass service has never been more serious than it is now. It seems that despite securing a huge lineup of acclaimed franchises through their ongoing bid to acquire Activision Blizzard, the company is constantly purchasing publishing rights to expand its already-impressive library.

New character posters for ‘The Lost City’ release along with early screening tickets

A new batch of character posters for the upcoming romantic comedy The Lost City has just dropped, ahead of the film’s release later this month.

The new images showcase some of the movie’s headlining stars, including Sandra Bullock, Channing Tatum, and Daniel Radcliffe.

Channing Tatum is bringing ‘Step Up’ live stage show to life

The Step Up franchise of romantic dance movies and a television series was an early showcase for actor and former model, stripper, and dancer Channing Tatum. Now his company is adding a live dance show to the series history.

Today The Hollywood Reporter revealed Tatum and his Free Association production house are collaborating with rights holder Lionsgate on a version of the property audiences will be able to see right before their eyes. Tatum and his team previously developed Magic Mike Live, a successful Las Vegas show based on the films, and it is expected veterans from this effort will shepherd and direct the family-friendly dance show, which is aiming for a release towards the middle of 2023.

Nostalgic Marvel fan art imagines the mid-00s MCU that might’ve been

This epic Marvel movie fan art imagines how things could have looked if the MCU was around in the early 2000s. 2008’s Iron Man rewrote the rulebook when it ended with Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury setting up the assembling of the Avengers, as every previous Marvel franchise had been self-contained. In some alternate universe out there, however, the likes of Spider-Man, the X-Men, and the Fantastic Four managed to paths in some epic cinematic event.

While we don’t have one of Doctor Strange’s portals to take us to that universe, this artwork gives us the next best thing by imagining how this “Avengers 2000s” team might’ve looked. Mark Ruffalo and Jennifer Garner were ecstatic to be reunited on-screen in ‘The Adam Project’

There are many reasons to be excited for The Adam Project, the latest streaming blockbuster coming to Netflix this March. One, it’s a high-concept sci-fi action-adventure flick. Two, it’s from Free Guy director Shawn Levy. And, three, it’s got a cast to die for. Star Ryan Reynolds is joined by two other Marvel universe veterans, Mark Ruffalo and Zoe Saldana, not to mention Jennifer Garner.

Yes, Ruffalo and Garner are finally reuniting on screen, which is a big deal for fans of a certain 2000s romcom. The Avengers: Endgame actor and Yes Day actress previously starred opposite each other in 2004’s 13 Going on 30. And they’re playing a couple again in The Adam Project, as they’re portraying Louis and Ellie Keen, parents to young Adam (Walker Scobell), who’ll grow up to be Reynolds’ time-traveler.
