Maureen Prescott, Sidney’s mom, was Ghostface’s first victim and the reason why Sidney’s boyfriend Billy had his number one target aimed directly at her. Maureen was having an affair with Billy’s dad, which set off a series of events that ended in bloodshed.

Voting begins for 2022 WGA nominees, with ‘King Richard’ and ‘Ted Lasso’ among favorites

After 2020 expectedly proved to be an underwhelming year for the entertainment industry, this year’s Writers Guild of America Awards are packed to the rafters with powerful contenders across the categories.

The voting process to determine the nominees for the main categories of best drama series, best comedy series, and best new series will take until Jan. 5 to conclude, while the best original screenplay and adapted screenplay don’t open until Jan. 12. Other nominations for TV categories and related media will be announced on Jan. 13, and the competitors for the screenplay categories on Jan 27. Final voting to determine the winners will take place between Feb. 2 and Feb. 16, with the main winners announced at the March 20 ceremony.

‘Friday the 13th’ lawsuit officially over but not yet resolved, sources say

Filmmaker John Carpenter gained universal recognition and became a household name thanks to his breakthrough horror film, Halloween, which helped develop the entire slasher genre. Aside from Halloween (1978), John Carpenter has taken the directorial helm of other recognizable titles such as Elvis (1979), The Thing (1982), and Vampires (1998).
