‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ star reacts to ‘Spider-Man 2’ Easter egg

Angourie Rice has been knocking around the MCU since 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming in the role of Betty Brant, the classic comic book character reimagined as a fellow Midtown High student. Rice’s character already had a tie to the original Spider-Man trilogy, as Elizabeth Banks previously played The Daily Bugle secretary in Sam Raimi’s movies, and she got to drop an iconic quote from Spider-Man 2 in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

When covering Peter Parker’s first day of senior year for the school’s news network, Betty says “Go get ’em, tiger.” As any Spidey fan will tell you, these are the exact same words Kirsten Dunst’s Mary Jane says to Tobey Maguire’s webhead at the end of the iconic Raimi-directed sequel. While chatting to The Hollywood Reporter, Rice admitted that she didn’t realize there was more to the line than meets the eye until she saw the film.

Tyler Perry is an accomplished actor, writer, director, playwright, and producer, owns his own production company and studio lot that’s housed countless film and television productions, and is a self-made billionaire.

There’s no other way around it: the dude is as talented, hardworking, and successful as they come. However, we can’t help but wonder why the hell he keeps foisting Madea upon us when the character ran out of creative and critical gas a long time ago. Oh, that’s right, because the movies kept making inexplicable amounts of money.

PlayStation Plus games revealed for January 2022

It’s that time of the month again. After some accurate leaks, the PlayStation Plus games for next month have been announced.

Michael J. Fox is giving the public an update on his health a year after announcing his retirement from acting altogether and three whole decades after he announced his diagnosis and daily struggles with Parkinson’s disease to the world.

According to Mayo Clinic, the disorder of the central nervous system affects movement, such as succumbing to tremors and difficulty writing or changes in speech. What’s more, it is a progressive disease, meaning symptoms can worsen over time, and there is no cure, though some medications can help mitigate symptoms.

Marvel fans spot first look at key new character in ‘Doctor Strange 2’ trailer

Attached to Spider-Man: No Way Home, the first trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has Marvel fans psyched for the Benedict Cumberbatch-starring vehicle. Not only does it tease Stephen Strange’s return, it reveals more from Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch, Chiwetel Ejiofor’s comeback as Baron Mordo, and even What If…?‘s Strange Supreme in live-action. In fact, the trailer is so dense fans are still noticing new things about it.

As pointed out by Redditer u/Skth7205 on the r/MarvelStudios subreddit, the Doctor Strange 2 trailer contains an easily overlooked glimpse at a key new character. In the screengrab showcased below, you can see a horned creature with green fur decked out in Mystic Arts robes, the attire donned by the order of sorcerers to which Doctor Strange belongs. When you factor in a recently unveiled upcoming action figure, it becomes obvious that this is our first look at Rintrah, the magical minotaur.

A massive flop starring Harrison Ford is rebounding on streaming

Anime dominates Japanese box office in 2021

Annual sales numbers are coming in from the Japanese box office now that 2021 is nearing a close, and anime is among the top-grossing films for Japanese audiences.

Anime News Network reports four selections from Japan’s top 10, including the top three, are anime films, while the fourth and fifth highest-grossing films are live-action adaptations of manga.

The best comedy movies of 2021

With 2021 drawing to a close and less than a week left in a year full of the unexpected, we’re all trying to unwind and relax as we leave the year behind and welcome a new one. For some, that means extended time off of work, more days with friends and loved ones — even if only virtually — and of course, movie and TV binges.

A genre that many movie buffs like to revisit at the end of the year is comedy. 2021 saw the premiere of more than a few funny films that were initially slated for a 2020 release but were pushed back because of the COVID-19 pandemic. While many fans had to watch these hilarious films from home as opposed to in cinemas, it was still exciting to see so many of them debut this year.
